Hello!  And Welcome to R Painted Acres!

We live in Northwestern Wisconsin on a cozy 12 acre hobby farm near the small town of Almena. We are just off of Hwy 8 between Barron and Turtle Lake.  Come on in and see the family.  If you are in the area and would like to stop in for a visit, just drop us an email at r_painted_acres@yahoo.com or give us a call at 715-641-0263.

If you see someone you are interested in, don't be afraid to ask...you just never know!

We raise:  Miniature Myotonic (Fainting) Goats, Pygmy goats, Miniature Donkeys, Hair Sheep, Babydoll Sheep, Miniature Nubians, Llamas, & Miniature Horses as well as a few other pocket pets.

My kids love to show our goats and have taken them to the local fair every year since 2006.  They do very well!  They have gotten many trophies and blue ribbons and, most of all, have had lots of fun!

We started with miniature donkeys back in 2006.  They are the sweetest!  They greet you when you walk out the front door or when you get home from work.   They come running to the fence to see you and they really show their appreciation for those scratches!

We started with a few sheep a couple years ago.  Just wanted to get our feet wet and see if it was something we would like and if they would like it here.  We only have a few and completely love them!

Miniature Nubians are a new adventure for us!   I have always liked the Nubian goat and LOVE the ears!  But their size was too hard for me with the miniature fainters and small pygmies.  Then I found the Miniature Nubians!  LOVE them!

My llamas were first purchased when I felt the need for protection against coyotes for my goats!  They are so sweet!  Everyone that comes here soon gets a llama kiss and they all leave with big smiles on their faces!  My girls love people!

Miniature horses are a big blessing in a small package!  We used to have riding horses but with time and space, it soon became hard for us to keep them.  The miniature horses don't need as much space and the kids love to tote them around and play with them like they do the dogs or goats!

 * BABIES HAVE ARRIVED!  Our first babies for 2011 have finally hit the ground.  Check back frequently as more will be added as they bless us with their presence.  We do have a waiting list for particular babies.  If you are looking for something particular, please email me and lets see what we can work out.

These animals are our pets and are part of our family.  I hope you enjoy your visit.

We occasionally have animals for sale.  Check them out in our SALE BARN or click the picture below.
